The Worst of Jefferson Airplane, RCA Victor LSP-4459, released in November 1970. The original issue had a facsimile of a 1918-vintage Victor Talking Machine Company inner sleeve and bore a facsimile "scroll" Victor label.

Interesting. I just saw a copy of that album today.
RCA did use the scroll label on a 2 disc LP reissue of Glen Miller material in the 1970s. It was strange to pull an LP out of the jacket and see that label on it!

"RCA did use the scroll label on a 2 disc LP reissue of Glen [sic] Miller material in the 1970s."
How inappropriate, considering the Glenn Miller material RCA Victor undoubtedly reissued on those LPs never appeared on the scroll label during the 78 era!

You're absolutely correct as Glenn's records were issued on Bluebird until about 1941 when he "graduated" to the Victor label. Actually, the 1970s Bluebird reissue label would have been more correct for the Miller band. I believe that somewhere I have seen a Tommy Dorsey reissue LP on the scroll label which was appropriate for him as his early Victors were on scroll.
Sorry about the spelling error. Something told me it wasn't correct but I didn't listen. Besides, to add to the confusion, I have a lifelong friend named Glen and one "n" is the correct spelling for his name.

If you mean the early 30s "Program Transcriptions", Victor used an octagonal motif that was somewhat reminiscent of the scroll:

Classical selections had a silver label with a circular design:

The use of the scroll label on domestic Victor labels ended around September 1937 but continued on Argentine Victor until late 1940. After that, the design was only used for occasional novelty purposes, like the Jefferson Airplane LP noted above.

Good job guys... I picked up a copy of the Jefferson Airplane at Goodwill the other day. I wonder even then how many Jefferson Airplane fans knew the novelty of the scroll label?

Neat, it is strange to see the scroll label on a vinyl LP like that.
The record says "For best results use Victor needles" - I hope nobody really did use Victor needles on it, lol.

I have reissues of Fletcher Henderson, Richard Himber, Tommy Dorsey and some others on 2 LP sets with the buff Bluebird Label.

Stranger still, RCA Canada re-issued some Elvis 45s with scroll labels in the early 1980s.
