Victrola Record Index Question

Post by ColoradoPhonograf »

I had this soft leather record index packed away for about 12 years, even forgetting I had it. This summer I bought a Victrola VTLA flat top "Pooley" and am wondering if this would be the appropriate index for that machine (?) I looked in the Victor Data book but it wasn't specific as to which machines the various record indexes went with. Any specific knowledge about these would be appreciated.
Thank you,

This index is correct to go with your flat top Pooley. These record indexes were used with all of the L-door models, the VV XIV, table top VVX, VVXI, and VVII. They added that little touch of luxury.

These indexes are for any Victrola that has the slot (for storage of the index) behind the needle tray. It may be more accurate to say it the other way around - the slot was designed for the record index.
