Source for record sleeves

Post by welshfield »

I searched the forum and did not get any results on this question. I just purchased at auction an enormous number of early 78s, most without any sleeves and most of the others have damaged or fragile sleeves that I would not trust to safely hold the record. My question is where do you folks buy economical record sleeves? Years ago I bought 500 from Sleeve City in Indianapolis, but this supply has long ago been used up and the outfit in Indianapois seems to be gone. My cost of that original purchase was quite low and reasonable. I would love to get a large lot of sleeves at a reasonable price. Any sources you can recommend?

Last time I checked Kurt Nauck had both new and used record sleeves. I have purchase items in the past and his service is excellent. Here is is his web site

Thanks barnettrp21122. Bags unlimites seem to have the best prices on the web. $117.50 for 500, 32# paper, white (to match previous) and archival quality. Nauck is way overpriced.
Even so I am paying way more for the sleeves than I did for the records, but I do want to care for them.

Nauck's may be pricy BUT OH! the quality is beyond wonderful.

I'm sorry to report a very negative experience with Nauck's "used" sleeves several months ago. Think recycle bin. Please let me be clear that my expectations were not all that high. I figured I'd get stuff that was decent and usable, and considering the price, maybe a little better than that, it being Nauck's and all. Alas, of the quantity I bought, about 20% were okay, 40% more-or-less workable, 15% that I could repair with tape (!), and the rest were trash -- old LP sleeves from the '70s, "sleeves" ripped out of albums, and some original retail sleeves that were just plain falling apart. I was really shocked. Perhaps my experience was an anomaly, but I was pretty nonplussed. I basically wrote it off as a bad experience, not to be repeated.

I am speaking only about his Disk-O-File sleeves.

For those in the Toronto are, Kops Records has acquired a large batch of NOS heavy sleeves which they are selling at reduced rate. I cannot remember their cost but you can email them through their website:
