Bird Cage Stand for a Crane?????

Post by Victrolacollector »

Several years ago in my old house, the previous owners had a old rusty looking tall stand looked like a bird feeder stand, but it may have been a cylinder horn stand. With the price of horn stands being on the high side, would a $30-40.00 bird feeder stand work? It has the hook and all.

any pictures of the stand? if you can make the loop to hold the horn, there is no reason for it not to work.

Yes, I think a bird cage floor stand could work very well with a big horn. Jerry

My handy husband made me one out of a music stand. It's really sturdy and adjustable. The music stands are readily available. I found mine at a flea market for $10. Just make sure it is one of the good sturdy ones.

I made a crane from an old music stand also very strong. used steel ¼" rod and rolled it over a steel 35 gal drum for the loop

Yes: I've modified a bird cage stand as a crane for my Columbia AT.

Cool. Or even anything that came with a tri-pod; cameras, projection screens...
