I agree, once I heard the videos I was stuck by the fantastic ability a horn can have. I too had engineers at my home once from a radio station who had intended to record the Orthophonic Credenza I owned at the time. They ended up saying that the electrical play back would not faithfully represent the sound as heard from an acoustic horn could produce it. It doesn't take many comparisons of electrical speakers to realize that the horn has it way over the former in ability to project instruments or singers. To me the horn is third dimensional and the speakers more or less flat. Just recently I had some orthophonic records I was playing on a mid range stereo I have at my moms, when I put the same records on even a portable orthophonic victor the way in which the sounds were projected was quite pronounced.

I play several phonographs at a nearby assisted living facility and one of the residents has lost her hearing through the years and can not hear music via electric speakers EXCEPT she can hear the recordings I play, either from a cygnet horn on a Triumph or the Victor 6 wood horn. She never misses a performance and you can see the delight in her eyes.

A friend of mine recently devised and constructed this remarkable horn for an Edison Phonograph. It's principal is based on the exponential horn used on Victor Orthophonics. The chassis is an Edison Amberola with a custom designed cabinet.
