I was wondering if anybody has sold larger credenza/console type wind up phonographs on eBay? If so, how do you ship them? Do you have them professionally packed? If so, about how much would this cost? Do you get an estimate on shipping costs before you sell them, or state in the listing, that shipping cost will be calculated based on where the buyer lives? Is it worth the trouble?
I have one I might want to sell, but I have never considered selling anything so big and fragile.

I haven't... but I would try selling locally via craigslist before going thru the hassle of trying to crate and ship it.

Re: Selling large phonographs on eBay
I have only purchased some smaller type turntables and portable victrolas on ebay and from the way in which every carrier has managed to damage them I would be extremely hesitant to sell one on ebay the size of a Credenza. Like what if it gets there all beat up and broken. Then where are you? The buyer is going to be pissed an what the money back for sure and some delivery services are hard to get to fix something as complicated as a fancy case victrola as far as what to allow on it. I just don't think it would be worth the hassel my self. I am sure others have had great experiences with it, but I am not going to try it.

uship.com
or else google "craters and freighters" - they're everywhere, they take care of everything, pick up, pack it and deliver it, and their prices are reasonable.

I've had big items delivered by Craters and Freighters with no problems.
