That is a very beautiful machine, any of the Period Victrolas are a great addition to any collection. I look forward to your Featured Phonograph post, please post many photos of this beauty.

Re: My Latest Auction Haul
There was an article in The Sound Box a few years back that showed all of the Victor Period models and listed the prices. Your Louis XVI No. 500 cost $1200 originally, and the price was lowered to $840 in late 1921. The electric motor was optional at additional cost.OrthoSean wrote:
As a side note, I found an article in the October 1920 issue of the "Talking Machine World" discussing the introduction of these machines, mentioning prices were "from $1000-$1340". Does anyone know which models cost what?

Re: My Latest Auction Haul
Thanks! Interesting. This one has the electric motor and is serial number 503. I guess now my question is, was mine sold in 1920 or late 1921? That's something we may never know.
