"This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing"..ebay
Anyone have any clues to what the error was and why it disappeared?

$.99...????. Well, that is a little lower to Hailey's hopeful $50k.....  . Now you would think that a seller "re-listing" and aware of a potential motor board issue.......they would give the board a little wipe down when taking "new" pics. Just to............. anyone??... anyone?........Bueller???......  .

Just another case of sellers greed. I bet it will not reach the amount it would have in the first listing. I don't give a dime about it anymore. Old news.

I agree the motor board is mahogany and possibly the horn as well. Finding those replacement parts in Circassian Walnut are next to impossible.

It makes me think of my American Walnut XVI. The motor board grain looks like oak but it seems to fit with the wood patina so well that I doubt its a replacement. On the Ebay machine however, it clashes big time.

For what it's worth, I have a Circassian Columbia Mignon, and everything seems to be Circassian, the motor board, deck, needle holder, horn, and rear panels.

Obviously this means nothing towards the discussion of what Victor used on their Victrola XVI's.

I briefly corresponded with the seller both before and after the relisting. He is local and I thought I might go and have a look at the machine. Once the price headed north of $2k I lost interest. After the relisting he was expecting $7K or more for the machine. Perhaps if it had not been relisted he would have made more on the sale.
