Shipping help for a larger machine from Calif. to NJ

Post by gemering »

A forum member has contacted me with interest in selling his Victor 8-35.
Unfortunately he is quite a distance away in S. California.
Can anyone give me the name of a reliable and reasonable shipping service?
If you've shipped a larger machine across multiple states before, I'd appreciate knowing the approximate cost to get the machine to NJ safely?
Anyone driving from Calif. to NJ with lots of extra room in their SUV???
Thanks,
Gene

Check out uship.com. I use it for all my shipping needs.

Gene,
I just a Pathé Actuelle shipped from Pennsylvania by greyhound and the cost was 85.00. It did take 7 days to get as they move the item sometimes from bus to bus when they have space. Better if there is a direct route to long Beach or los angeles stations . The seller packed it well in a stapled box with styrofoam all around in the interior.

You can always use Craters and Freighters. They will pack and deliver, but a little expensive.
