So...he was expecting 7K or better...These people who list stuff, of which they have absolutely NO IDEA what it is that they have...and then search the web and all the sudden their expectations become over-the-top - this just drives me crazy!!

Does me too. I swear sometimes I am not going to look at eBay, but always stick my nose in. I knew that seller was trying to up the price when he stopped the first auction. He certainly would have been better off to let it run. Besides, it was only a 16 with a broken leg. It is odd in this case, as the seller had already acknowledged in the original listing that questions had been raised about the originality of the motor board and that there was a crack in the leg, so little seems to have changed with the relisting.
Purely a guess, but perhaps someone who bid the first time complained about the potential problems not being revealed at the very beginning and the seller just decided to start over.

I did not ask why he relisted it. But the change in title give me a clue as does one of the lines in his response. At first he had it spelled as Victorola and not Victrola, and then with the relisting mentioned Circassian Walnut. The line from his response that got me thinking was he had done "a lot of recent online research". I think he did not know what he had and was surprised by the quick rise in bids, did a little research or called someone, and then relisted it appropriately in hopes of getting higher bids and more traffic. Anyone listing a Victorola might not get the hits that the correct spelling would, and adding Circassian Walnut would pull in people who know what to look for. Still, relisting does leave a bad taste in the mouths of folks who bid in good faith and had their bids cancelled.
