I have a Pathé reproducer and it appears someone tried (unsuccessfully) at some point to replace the rubber connector with some sort of tubing. Unfortunately it's quite loose and the reproducer doesn't stay in the tonearm as it should.
I have the collar that goes into the tonearm, but I'm not sure if there's supposed to be one at the reproducer end, does anyone know?
The big question is where do I find suitable tubing to replace the missing rubber section?
Thanks guys!

Re: Pathéphone Reproducer Rubber Connector Question
There is a metal sleeve around the reproducer end as well. In mine it is simply fixed in place with two little pins. I used a piece of automotive cooling (double reinforced / 2 ply)hose with an outer diameter to fit the metal sleeve. I had to carve out the inside of the hose on the reproducer end to fit. The tonearm sleeve I glued on with a bit of black RTV silicone. It works, but is probably a bit too stiff. The remaining pieces of the original looked like it was like an old style reinforced rubber garden hose (1 ply), not the new plastic ones. Unfortunately I was not able to find just a short piece and I did not want to buy a 100ft contractor hose if I only needed 4". If you find such a piece of garden hose, either red or black have been used originally.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I see those old hoses at estate sales all of the time, next time I see one I'll grab it and send you a section. Is the cuff I'm missing decorative or does it serve a purpose?

Re: Pathéphone Reproducer Rubber Connector Question
I think the cuff holds/presses the rubber hose to the reproducer. On mine there are also two small holes on the flange were the cuff and hose are fixed with little pins like escutcheon pins. Otherwise the reproducer might turn on the hose or slip off. On another Pathé reproducer I have there are tiny screws instead of the pins that hold the cuff in place.
That would be great if you could find some of that correct hose type. The wall of the radiator hose is much too thick and stiff. I think it was supposed to be somewhat flexible.
Thanks
Andreas

Hi
I posted some photos of my Pathé soundbox parts on The Pathéphone No 2 - novice questions 12 July 2013, showing the tubing, metal collar and fixing to the arm. They maybe useful reference.
Good Luck

Thanks, zapper. I found it here: http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =2&t=13373
I was able to find some radiator hose at the auto parts store during lunch that fit perfectly into the tonearm fitting. I suppose I should try to find the other fitting now: http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =9&t=14566
