The Pathé rooster is neat, Amberola. I am thinking those have to be pretty rare.

I bought that at an auction that Tim and his cousin had in MD. about 10 years ago. I have never seen another. Ron Harin and I did very well at that auction.FloridaClay wrote:The Pathé rooster is neat, Amberola. I am thinking those have to be pretty rare.

Re: Phonospace (or, "Where's Waldo?)
I would be embarrassed to put my small collection up for all to see. But I will later on once I get pics taken. I sold my large collection about 15 years ago, and was out of the hobby until recently. It never completely got out of my blood. I guess once you are hooked, you are forever. There were only 2 machines in that collection I wish I had back. One was a very late wood horned Victor 5 with an automatic brake, and the other was a 100% correct Modernola. All the rest can be replaced, and I am working on it.gramophone78 wrote:"Amberola" Very nice. However, are these yours this time or...???. If not....we would love to see your machines....![]()

So then the Pathé rooster is not yours??. I was going to ask if you broke it. Only because the break seems fresh and after the red re-paint. There are at least two versions of the rooster that I know of. Very cool and rare. I guess because they are so fragile being reinforced plaster?.Amberola wrote:I would be embarrassed to put my small collection up for all to see. But I will later on once I get pics taken. One should never feel "embarrassed" about their collection. The point of the thread is to see what each of us has in "our" collections. Even if you post machines you once owned. Now I for one would really like to see a pic of your late Vic.5. Only because there are not too many and because I own the mahogany version. Do you remember the serial number by chance??. Here is our late mahogany Vic.5......

It was broken and repaired when I bought it. As to the Victor, I don't remember the serial number. I think I have a picture on a disk somewhere. I will see if I can find it. And a nice one you have there.

Re: Phonospace (or, "Where's Waldo?)
Hey folks,
Well, after being at George P's yesterday and briefly discussing this thread, today I hesitantly decided to throw my $.02 into the arena.
My collection is very small and compared to the other collections I viewed in this thread, I am feeling a bit inadequate.
I must say, "Thank you" to all that have participated, I shall endeavor to persevere. This really is just the beginning!
Oh, and by the way, George, no Waldo here! Maybe he's in the garage.

Fran,
Thanks for posting.
You are off to a great start with your collection!
I hope others will continue to post their collections, no matter how big or small.
