Victor E Restored

Post by Lucius1958 »

Well: I finally got the spring barrels and reproducer back, so my E is complete (except for a record hold down).

Had to have the mainsprings replaced, as the previous ones were the wrong gauge; got a repro front bracket bolt from Ron Sitko, an original crank from Tim Fabrizio, and a motor board stay arm from Larry Crandell.

I reglued a crack on the motor board, replaced a bit of trim on one column, touched up the finish with some shellac, patched up some holes in the felt. and replaced the brake leather.

The motor runs fairly quietly for a Victor of this vintage…

Do you need a record hold down? I have a repro I would give you. Someone asked for one a while back, and I lost their info. Was that you?

Very nice restore. I always liked the "Gibson" arm. It just adds that extra touch to the machine. Well done.

Nice restoration. Thanks for sharing, you now have a machine worth inviting guests over to view.
