Just wanting to give a "heads-up" to anyone who may be interested. We will be back at the old farmhouse where my father lived this coming weekend, and I hope to bring a couple of things back home with me. We did uncover 2 Victor V's last weekend (YES - 2 of them!), and both have wood horns. I did not look closely at the machines, but I did take notice of the horns. One horn will need some restoration, as some of the wood near the collar is missing. The second horn looked pretty good, with maybe just a single small gouge in it. I did find the notes that my dad left with both machines (he left notes with everything). Both Victors were bought by my father back in the 1960's and both machines came out of the state of Indiana. Both machines are virtually "virgin" machines, as both apparently came from descendants of the original owners.
With that said, I will photograph them once I bring them home, and then can post them here. I have a Victor V, so both of these will be available. Other than knock the dust off, I will not alter these prior to offering them. I want whoever ends up with these to enjoy the work that it may take to make these one of the outstanding machines in their Victor line-up. I do not have prices as yet...I need to get them out and in front of me before I price them. However, as you have witnessed from my previous offerings, the prices will extend the opportunity to even the beginning collector to purchase, at a fraction of the price, that which a similar machine may be offered elsewhere.
If you have a preliminary interest, I will take offers ahead of posting them. My goal is to get these posted this upcoming Tuesday. I realize that postings are viewed by chance when members check in with the forum. I hope by doing this that it may give those that are interested ample time to mull this over and even make offers in advance of the posting.
Thanks much!!
