bent elbow?

picked up this Vic one at the consignment shop and yes I know the horn is wrong but it came with it. Is the elbow bent or does it normally set this low . who has nice reproduction elbows . not aluminum ones

Yes the elbow is bent. I think the reproducer with needle will hit the horn. Can be fix. You just have to work at it.

You might check at a local music shop and ask who straightens and polishes brass instruments. That person can repair your elbow. You might take another elbow with you as well as a profile photo to show what you'd like for a final result. Jerry

Check with Wyatt's if you want to get a nice repro elbow

A better elbow is from Ron Sitko. They are nickel-plated brass. They look great and realistic. They are better than those clunky aluminum elbows.

Wyatt's and Ron Sitko both provide a great service to the collecting community. just be sure to ask for a nickel plated brass elbow and not an aluminum one. Jerry

In the picture, it looks like that more is bent than the elbow. Unless it is an optical illusion the back bracket looks bent also.
