Featured Phonographs archive now up to date

Brandon and I have been working together for a while to get all the Featured Phonographs linked in the Archives section. It was a bumpy road, but now everything is up to date. I will try to get new Featured Phonographs added quickly going forward. I hope this will be a valuable resource for all.

You will see that a few entries do not have any pictures, which is unfortunate. This is because the original poster removed the pictures from their account or post at some point. If you posted a Featured Phonograph, please do not remove the pictures from your account.

I hope this will give a motivation boost for everyone to consider posting a Featured Phonograph for all to enjoy. The next number would be #92...

I'm tempted to make a post, but I don't think any of my machines is that special or is particularly well preserved.

There is no requirement for a Featured Phonograph to be rare or expensive. In nearly 5 years members have shared over 90 different machines, from common to extremely rare. We all enjoyed the posts about your Triumph restoration. So don't be shy, share pictures and information about a machine that is special to you. This will also allow you to ask questions and maybe fill in some missing information that others will be able to provide.

There are hundreds of different machines out there and we haven't seen most of them. Just as an example, I can't believe that nobody has shared a Brunswick yet.

Howdy, I'm new to antique phonographs AND new to this forum. I don't have a lot of knowledge to share, but I do have a Brunswick 207 that my wife recently brought home from a trip to Texas. It's in mostly "as found" condition, but seems to have been pretty well kept. Has a few "age related"issues, but I think was well worth the money we paid. I can post it as a "Featured Phonograph". Do I just list it as "Featured Phonograph #92", or do I submit it for consideration first? Don't want to make any "newbie" mistakes. Thanks.

Are un-restored / less-than-perfect machines eligible ?


None of my machines are "like factory new", although some are very nice originals... the remainder are at least presentable enough to merit placing in the living area of most homes...

Nothing super rare or exotic, but I wouldn't mind presenting some of my machines...

Like I said earlier in this thread, there is no specific requirement for a featured phonograph, except maybe that it should be yours. I would also encourage everyone to check if the specific model has already been featured before, not sure we want lists of the same. I could see somebody post a machine that is special or different, like a Vernis Martin or a Circassian Walnut, even though there is already one posted in mahogany. All in all I think common sense would be a good guide, just remembering the purpose of being a valuable research resource for all. Regarding unrestored ot less than perfect, I would think that if it is good enough to be displayed in your house it's OK. If you just got it and plan to clean and fix it, I would do that before presenting it. Again, common sense is a great guide. And of course, all this is just my opinion. I don't own this forum, we all make it the great place that it is.

Just one small request from my side: please use the subject line "Featured Phonograph № xx" with xx = the next number. Currently we are up to № 93. Also please use the basic template below to present your information.
