I'm looking to purchase any one of the following Sonora models: "Supreme","Invincible" or"Grand".
Mahogany or Oak finishes.
If you have,or know of anyone with one willing to sell, i would pay top dollar for one that is original,
well preserved and in good working order.
Please let me know via PM and thanks for any help as I REALLY want to add one of these fine machines to my collection.

Re: WANTED: Sonora upright model
I purchased a stunning Sonora "Invincible" model from Raphael.
It's just below the "Supreme" in the Sonora upright line.
I can't say enough about what a pleasure it is to deal with Raphael.
You get way more than what you pay for..you get a friend too.
I hope to have another chance to deal with him in the future.
Maybe when I win the next powerball jackpot!..or get a second mortgage!
Should be arriving at my home early next week.
It's definitely the jewel in the crown, now.
Now...i just have to tell my wife
Here's a few pics.

Congratulations Dave on a very nice machine. Wait until you see it in person, Raphael's machines are always better than described. Won't be no buyers remorse on this one. Just look at that beautiful tone arm. Nice, and I'm jealous.

Thanks, Dave, for the kind words. This Sonora will be a showpiece in your home, for sure, as it was in mine.

Re: WANTED: Sonora upright model
Well...here it is in my home.
It arrived safe and sound because Raphael packs his machines like he means it.
Lots of styrofoam inserts, heavy fabric blankets (do i get to keep those?) and insulation blankets
all wrapped up in plastic wrap inside heavy double wall cardboard boxes..whew!
I swear it could have gone to the international space station without a problem!
As Amberola said..its better in person than any photo or verbal description...
And after I sealed that nice wood tonearm with some lube (lots of potential air leaks),
rebuilt the two soundboxes (lateral& vertical), It plays any record with excellent fidelity.
(I still wont play my DD's on it).In some respects it gives my Credenza a good run for the money.
Thanks Raphael for the chance to own and experience this machine.

Not a straight line in her! Those old cabinet makers sure liked a challenge, didn't they? A buddy of mine jokes those curvaceous Sonoras remind him of a big busty woman like Brunhilde singing "Ride of the Valkyries."
