I know these are uncommon and can be costly, but $4500???

ha... you're rough. I was thinking more like 1000 to 1500 was a fair price, based on what I've seen in the past. the small ones, the baby grands in decent shape, maybe 450. but this is one of the larger bombe models and it also has the wooden tonearm.
