I'm wanting to list a original Victor Mahogany Speartip horn for sale.
Im wondering...What would be the absolute best way to prepare and ship this to the buyer?
Thanks for any help and advise...
Dave

Re: Shipping original mahogany speartip
I have shipped them before Dave. I wrapped the heck out of them with the big bubble wrap. Also put Styrofoam in the bottom and sides at the large end. Can't put to much paper and bubble wrap in there. Cost is horrible at 130.00 the last one I shipped. I don't know how Don and Eduardo ships them for the price they do.

I kind of thought shipping would come with a heafty price tag.
I guess i'll have to figure it into what my final selling price will be.
Thanks for the tips,Amberola

Re: Shipping original mahogany speartip
The biggest problem that I see with big boxes is that the shipping company (USPS, FEDEX, UPS, etc.) puts them at the bottom of a pile with others stacked on top. Often they arrive crushed. You may not be able to double-box something that size. Were it up to me, I would start with a large box, and instead glue additional layers of cardboard as reinforcement to the walls and corners inside the box to stiffen it up to support more weight. I would also reinforce the top somehow.

Thanks for your tips..Keith.
Maybe I'll try and get in touch with Eduardo or Don Gfell and ask them what methods
they employ. If they tell me,I'll be sure to pass it on.

A sheet of 1 in foam insulation from Lowe's or Home Depot. Line the box using hot glue gun or construction adhesive. Bubble wrap & plenty of peanut. You can't over pack but you can pack too tight.
You need some Wiggle Room.
