33 ⅓ Crosby Show Recording Question
Howdy All: I just picked up one of those large reference recording discs of the Kraft Music Hall Hour from 1944 that is 33 ⅓ rpm. The turntable hole is smaller than the current standard. How do folks play these currently? I have a turntable with a larger diameter stylus that would do the trick but I don't think the spindle is easily removeable. Is it considered blasphemy to drill that center hole a wee bit to have it playable for the foreseeable future? John

Not blasphemy.
Records of all types occasionally have center holes that are a wee small. I've used a thin knife and gently shaved the edge of the hole so that it would fit. A drill probably isn't necessary.

I use a round file, but be very careful not to take too much away. A gentle turn or two usually does the trick.
