I am attaching some pictures of my "L" door that is almost complete, just waiting on a decal from Gregg Cline, and of course hoping to find a set of hard album boxes at some point in time.
I want to thank Matt for the lower door knob and Moooperator for the bottom drawer. They were both so great to help me out. Matt even made a Christmas present of the knob!!!! Thanks so much guys.
The machine plays and sounds great definitely one of my favorites.
Thanks for a great Forum and all the help.
Best Regards, and "Merry Christmas"
Dave Beck

This is the machine I bought from Roy in Norman Oklahoma. I will try and attach the before pictures from his earlier post. It was painted black inside and had been painted red and black all over at sometime.
Thanks for the interest.

Looks Great Dave! Glad you got the knob. USPS can be a bear, especially at Christmas.

Dave,
Great job.
The machine looks beautiful.
What was under the black paint?
Were you able to save the original oak, or did you have to do a total refinish?

All the oak is original, there were coats of black under the white inside and traces left of red in groves etc. Look about a gallon of stripper and 3 gallons of lacquer thinner to get it cleaned. There were a few loose joints that had to be re-glued and clamped. About 2 weeks worth of work at 4-5 hours a day. I sure enjoy the looks and the way it plays.

You just have to love oak so easy to bring back from depths of despair and get a beatiful result. It just never seems possible with the mahagony.

A very fine looking job. What finish did you apply to the cabinet?
