It's only worth that amount if it has a hairline crack and a couple of edge flakes.

As I troll eBay I notice that quite a few sellers are graduates of the P.T. Barnum School of Economics: "There's a sucker born every minute".

I wonder how many mullets those guys actually catch?

 I know it was a huge hit from the film Holiday Inn but as with any other popular record there were huge number of these pressed so I would guess there are thousands of these around. Whenever I hit a thrift store and there any number of Bing Crosby records there is always at least worn out copy of White Christmas I have a nice clean copy more as a remembrance of that movie and it is a pretty song and he sounds great

They pressed so many of the 1942 recording that the metal parts completely wore out and it was re-recorded in 1947 in an (almost) identical arrangement, they tried, anyway. On CD collections the 1947 sometimes is credited as the 1942.

The 1947 exists in it's original form as a better sounding 33 ⅓ rpm studio transcription, but I believe the 1942 can only be sourced from a shellac 78 copy. That's the most obvious way to tell the difference if you have it on CD.

After you buy Bing, there's a copy of "Meet the Beatles" for $2200. Jerry

Believe it or not, the very first pressings of Meet the Beatles do bring over $2000 in mint shape:

Another example of fantasy expectations. I will be astonished if it sells.

White Christmas was wildly popular. I have several copies acquired as part of some past bulk 78 purchases. They were in lots of homes.

Oh, and yes I do still love it and have been playing it this season. Hearing it brings back many good memories. When somebody plays it I recognize it after the first 2 or 3 notes.

I would probably be disappointed in the one offered. My favourite version has the following numbers on the label
WL4374
album no A-550
23778
It brings back many pleasant memories of when I was a child.
