I bought a fairly similar on a while ago. I cleaned it, oiled it, sharpened it - and now use it quite a lot with fiber needles I buy on eBay.

Re: Victrola fiber needle cutter
I've only ever seen one of these Victor fibre needle trimmers in the flesh, so to speak. Many years ago, I visited the home of a college friend and he showed me his Victrola and the trimmer. At the time, I was totally ignorant of antique phonographs and I didn't grasp the significance of anything phono-related (I was into "high fidelity"). But the impression has stayed with me all these years. I'd like to own one of these trimmers, in fact the owner's booklet for my VV-XI G (1917) devotes a couple of pages to the care and feeding of this device. Certainly I'd want one if I used fibre needles!
