Has anyone seen or heard of a 78 rpm record put out by the comedy team, Laurel and Hardy? Was there just one issue? or many? Are they rare?
I found this article about a one and only disc found, I am wondering if someone could eventually make a plastic cylinder of it?

The only official L&H record I know of is the one they made for Columbia during their UK Tour in 1932. It doen't turn up often, and when it does, expect to pay at least $ 150 for it (if in good condition).

The recording that is mentioned in the L&H Online Magazine is seems to be a private recording, made with a home recording device on a blanc disc. Provided one has the right equipment to play one of those discs it can be copied to any other type of sound carrier.

Re: Laurel and Hardy 78
Some years ago I found a good copy of this record in a secondhand shop. Although not a Laurel and Hardy fan I knew it to be a novelty, and after some research I discovered that it was rare.
I also realised that it was likely to be more sought after in the USA than the UK, and sold it to an American dealer for more than $150.
I followed the dealer's packing suggestions to the letter, and after an anxious wait I received the good news that the record had arrived safely.
I have never seen another.

I have a copy, sadly cracked but playable, which turned up in a collection I bought some years ago. I too have never seen another.epigramophone wrote:Some years ago I found a good copy of this record in a secondhand shop. My pleasure, but I must admit it is not my video, and I don't have a copy of this record. I only have it on a cd called "L&H On The Air".EdiBrunsVic wrote:Thanks for sharing this interesting record!
The record does turn up every now and then, I spotted it once in Nauck's auction catalogue, and even placed a bid on it, but some other L&H fan with deeper pockets won it.
