Brunswick Model YO spring repair

Post by Hearsug »

I am rebuilding the spring motor on my recently acquired Brunswick Model YO phonoghaph. It appears to be in very good condition, all of the gears, etc. operate freely. Could someone please explain how to disassemble the 2 piece spring housing?

Pictures will always help others to better understand the problem and give advice.
Good luck

Good idea. The attached photo is of the spring housing assembly.

Maybe it is properly called a spring barrel?

I would put the the side with the smaller gear into a vise. Take a piece of wood and a hammer. Tap around the part that overlaps the other to separate the two halves.

I'd put it in a vise. A vice might be illegal!
