Nice set of records I came upon today.

Normally it's hard to find records...or players here in Montana where I live, however I have not put forth a "search" until about 6 months ago. and I'm guessing I'm not looking in the right places.

I did get a VV100 which plays very nice. So I have been on the look out for records as well.

I have a list almost complete of about 450 records.

Today I went into the thrift store and chanced upon around 75 more.

I was surprised at how many different labels was in this group.

But one thing about seeing these records....somewhere close, there is/was a player. the thrift store didn't know who dropped off the records though. ughhh..lol

We have a lot of retirees and when they pass away the kids or grandkids come in from out of state to close up their home and don't want the records. And I wonder how many thousands just get thrown in the trash every year in the same scenario.

In your area estate sales and farm sales might be potential sources.

The player that went with these (mostly) post-World War II records probably had an electric motor and an electric pickup. Such phonographs are rarely discussed on this TMF board, but should you find it and wish to pursue refurbishing it, this board is an excellent resource:

oh your right they are Tempo and Sonora
I'll find the Montilla and get pics of it too.

Right now hubby and I have to unfreeze some house pipes for someone. it's damn cold here!

That's pretty typical fare you got there.

I look around thrifts too. In any given pile / box of records you may easily find 20 or 30 different labels that span the first half of the century. It's not uncommon to find album sets of records that have say, an old Victor from the 1910's sitting next to a London record from the 1950's.

Crazy world.

That was lovely! Clearly a recording cannot be judged by its cover.
I've always enjoyed some Latin music but do not have much knowledge. Thank you for the link and the additional info.

You are most welcome! Of course this is Spanish music, not "Latin" (which I usually take to mean music from (mostly) Spanish-speaking Latin America). And my apologies to you and Mr. Herrero, who of course is a flamenco singer, not a "flamingo" singer! Voice-activated software will be the death of me.
