Jerry, I understand the elbows and back brackets are different between the 2 model 0s but are there 2 different size horns as well or did they use the same horn for both models? Since the horn I have did not come with the late Vic 0 I have, I don't know if it is the right horn for this machine. If the horns were different sizes, what is the difference in the measurements of the early and late model horn?Jerry B. wrote:Harvey is talking about the late O. Early and late O's have different sized horns elbows and back brackets. I believe Harvey is saying that the taper at the horn end of a Vic II elbow and a late Vic O elbow are the same but the elbow is not as long. He suggests cutting down a reproduction Vic II elbow so the opening has the same diameter as a late Vic O elbow. Jerry

Re: Question Victor 0 Elbow
Harvey and Jerry, I understand what you are both saying about cutting the elbow down, ie. shortening it so the diameter of the elbow end would be smaller, due to the taper,so the horn would fit. That would work and I am going to try that. I also understand Harvey's suggestion that since my horn has been repainted, I can make the horn button fasten in the groove at the top (as it should on the Late O) and apply the decal in the right position. That still doesn't answer my question as to whether there were 2 different size O horns. One size that went on the early model and a different size that was for the late model.I don't mean just the horn end diameter. I'm asking about a difference in overall length, bell diameter etc. I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm just trying to find out if I have the correct horn for the late model Vic O. Am I missing something?Phonofreak wrote:Thanks Jerry, You couldn't have said that better.

Re: Question Victor 0 Elbow
I know you are not trying to be difficult. There are at least two different Vic O horns. I just tried again and could not get the elbow off my late O. I just talked to Harvey and he is convinced that there are only two Vic O horns. I gave the all the dimensions of the small horn. If your horn does not match those measurements, you must have the late and larger Vic O horn. The larger Vic O horn lends itself to using a modified reproduction Vic II elbow. I am happy to try answering more questions. Best, Jerry

Re: Question Victor 0 Elbow
Sorry, Jerry. I went back and read where you had given me the end measurement of the smaller Early horn. Mine is indeed larger, being 1 3/16" on the end. Thanks again, Jan.Jerry B. wrote:I know you are not trying to be difficult. There are at least two different Vic O horns. I just tried again and could not get the elbow off my late O.
