We've had some new members on the Forum lately and a great deal if time has been spent trying to help them get good value for their phono dollars. I am going to list several machines that I have ready to sell. If I still have them in June, I will take them to the Union show at no additional cost. If a buyer wants them shipped, packing and shipping is at cost.

I would welcome comments about features and prices.

This machine is an Edison Standard Model D. It plays both two and four minute cylinders and has an original H reproducer. The paint and striping on the deck is original. It has a reproduction gear cover and the cabinet has been refinished using a Gregg Cline decal. Please call 541-990-0781 (Pacific time zone) or email [email protected] with any interest or questions. The first person to say sold is the buyer. The price is $325.

Jerry, I don't think anybody could go wrong buying any of these machines if they're looking for one.

Jerry, that's a nice looking cabinet. Could you please share your refinishing method with us? I have a couple of cabinets that need work and I like your results. Looks like an excellent value to me.

Re: FOR SALE: Edison Standard Model D 2&4 Minute Player
Jim, Thanks for asking. If a machine needs refinishing, I strip the cabinet, use Watco walnut for stain, apply several coats of Deft varnish, smooth with 0000 steel wool, apply a Gregg Cline decal, several more (maybe 4) coats of Deft, and rub gently with 0000 steel wool. I like the look and feel of the finished cabinet. The only time I use sand paper is when wood filler is used to repair a damaged spot. It may not be shellack but I like the end results. Jerry Blais

I usually shy away from refinished machines unless they are very well done. This one IS very well done and someone got a an excellent machine at a reasonable price here.
