Thank you, gentlemen! I didn't mean to hijack this thread...
I remember 40 years ago yesterday when I turned 20. My folks had asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and I really didn't have any good ideas. At the time I had thought something like, "Boy - birthdays sure aren't what they used to be!"
Yesterday, Barb and I drove around to several guitar shops "in search" of a model that hasn't been made in a couple of years. The sky was blue and the temperature was about 50 (a huge improvement over the past few weeks here in western New York state!). The sunroof was open and I was having a great time. Both kids called on the cell phone during the course of the afternoon. The upshot was that we eventually found the guitar I "wanted" - - brand new in the box and for a bargain price. But after playing it, I put it back. Barb was puzzled, and encouraged me to buy it. But it was my birthday after all... We hopped back in the car and drove off in the sunshine to a shop 30 miles away. We didn't buy anything there either, but I still got everything I wanted for my birthday.
Best to all,
George P.
