Dorothy Shay comedy recordings

Post by celticguitar666 »

Here are a couple of recordings of a record I got yesterday on a whim. A Columbia red label C119 1-2 It turned out to be a little gem of comedy sort of reminds me of Ada Jones. and was very attractive too! Dorothy it seems was popular from the 30's up to the 50's performing Sweetheart on the Johnny Carson's Tonight Show in 1956 Gee I miss Johnny he was so much funnier than the current crew. Any who I especially like the Sweetheart song
enjoy

"Sweethearts" reminds me of the old Stan Freberg song "That's My Boy"

I remember "Feuden . . . " well. It was very popular back in the day. Heard it on the radio a lot. (Mercy, that makes me ancient!) Fun to hear it again.

Her Park Avenue Hillbilly 78 rpm set is very common.
