I was wondering how I could have been so careless in writing those book captions... It didn't occur to me that I might have used the same spelling I had found doing the research! You made my day, Clay... :)

Yes, thanks Clay. I guess either is correct. Unless they forget the apostrophe in the stencil....???.

In checking The Talking Machine World, I found this advertisement in the April 1905 issue:
From "The Talking Machine World," April 1905.
From "The Talking Machine World," April 1905.
But in the September and November 1907 issues, ads appeared without the apostrophe. Perhaps people struggled with their correct usage back then as much as they do today! ;)
