I took another quick look at it yesterday. The tracking is way out, absolutely terrible, and I'm pretty sure there's not enough room to move the motor far enough in the existing cabinet, which seems to be purpose-made, to get it anywhere near correct. I need to investigate further but if that's the case it will be pointless to restore it as-is. It's a pity because otherwise, I'd really like to preserve it in its original format, especially as the sound is really quite good.

Or maybe I can modify the tonearm to compensate?

Well, do you have a junk record that you don't mind playing on it to get some idea of how it preforms?

Do you have some spare tone arms that will fit it that might work better?
