Was there a brass or steel version of a Model B Diamond reproducer? I never heard of a non-potmetal one before.

Diamond B and C reproducers are all potmetal, however they don't seem to have the same degree of problems that potmetal parts usually have. Plus, there are so many available that it is not difficult to find a good one.

I thought they were made of both brass and pot metal. Learn something new everyday. I just want a reproducer to play blue amberols on. The diamond B is the best I'm told?

Absolutely! They are at their best when used with a wood cygnet horn, however I use one on a Home with an Edison Home horn and get great sound that way, too. They sound especially amazing on early direct recorded Blue Amberols.
