Maroon Gem bought on the Forum

Post by rgordon939 »

Here is a Maroon Gem I bought from one of the forum members. Once I reciecieved it I disassembled it and started cleaning it up. I got the machine done except for the new mainspring that hasn't arrived yet. Next will be the case. I will update pictures when it is completely done. Here are some pictures from when I got it and after I cleaned it up. What do you think?

It looks very nice. I've always been a sucker for a nice Gem. Maybe that's why I have too many of them. Jerry

Hi Rich,
It looks like you got a nice Maroon Gem. The paint and decals are in good condition, especially the front Edison decal which usually takes a beating over the years!

Jerry - you never have too many Gems! They take up very little room and can be displayed nicely on shelves. The can sit nicely on the Banana seats of your Schwinn Krates too

Out of all my Edison machines, I have no Gems... Definitely on my hit list...down the road!

A maroon GEM is definitely on my wish list too. No opportunities yet, but I'll keep looking. I'd also love to get a branded case GEM sometime.

That looks like a nice machine, Rich.

Well the Maroon Gem Model D is finally all done. Cleaned up real nice, a great looking original machine. Will make a great addition to my collection. Now I just missing a Drip Pan Gem. Anyone have one they want to sell?
