I thought that I would post some pictures of an interesting Dealers Label that is I my Vic E. It is very faded but with a lot of natural light it reads.. W K Yeagley Watch maker and Jeweler Akron Indiana. The date of June 6th 1902 is written on the label in black ink. There is also an old newspaper in the bottom of the cabinet that has the date of August 9th 1902. Has anyone else come across this Dealers label?

That is very cool. How odd to have a dealer label inside, rather than under the case, or more typically a decal or celluloid or metal plate on the outside of the case. Having it dated is icing on the cake. Given the 2 months between the label date and newspaper I'm guessing the original owner lined the bottom weeks after buying it to catch possible oil drips.

That's interesting on several levels. As Rene points out, dealers usually preferred having their advertising where it could be seen!
I wonder if the label was applied by a dealer who repaired/serviced the machine. If so, there hadn't been much time for anything to go wrong with it...
What's the serial number? In any event we'll know that this number was reached prior to June 6, 1902.
This reminds me of an AB Graphophone here. It's serial number is 752258, and it appears the original owner proudly noted inside the lid the date of purchase along with his (her?) name.

That's too cool. Makes you wonder who might have read the paper prior to stuffing it in the cabinet. Love that old stuff.
