Gordon,
Depends what kind of EB phonograph you are talking about. Do you have a photo. Value does not only depend on model but other factors like condition etc.
If its the one pictured ie. being "sold" at the moment thru various channels by different people simultaneously make sure you physically have it in your presence before paying any money as many people are selling a picture of a machine that was sold in March 2012 and is not really for sale.

Re: EDISON BELL ELECTRIC PHONOGRAPHS
Thanks for that, I was a bit worried as the bloke had put it on ebay, I asked if he had a buy now and got no reply. He then took it off ebay and then emailed me with a bit of a story saying he wanted £1,300 for it, I told him I couldn't afford that. Then he emailed me again asking my to Please give him an offer. So thank you for letting me know I will now forget about it. The photo's do seem to be the same as the one posted up on ebay, the bloke also hadn't sold anything on ebay before so that don't ring right either. Gordon

The seller has just got back to me, and told me I could have it for £500 and I could send the money through Skrill (Moneybooker). That way he would send me the phonograph and once I am happy with it Skrill (Moneybooker) will give him the money as long as I am happy with it. I don't think I will bother after what I've been told and read. Gordon.

Re: EDISON BELL ELECTRIC PHONOGRAPHS
WHENEVER ANYONE asks you to pay like that, dont do it!!, they take your money, and never send the item, i almost got ripped off that way, i was buying a guitar, the seller asked me to pay by UKASH then the courier will come to deliver the guitar, probably the same thing that you have been asked to do, i then realised it was a scam, said she can have cash upon delivery, otherwise she can p**S off, and, as you can expect, she never got back to me, i thus reported her to everything i could,i seriously wouldnt even hesitate to report these people to the police, what they are doing it a crime and they are commiting a theft to people who dont suspect a thing, if anyone asks you to ever send cash then confirm postage, dont do it, they are trying to steal from you!!debndunk wrote:The seller has just got back to me, and told me I could have it for £500 and I could send the money through Skrill (Moneybooker). Why not tell him that you'll take it for 500 as long as you or one of your many friends can pick it up personally. And that as a policeman you have friends and colleagues all over the UK, so it can be picked up anywhere?debndunk wrote:The seller has just got back to me, and told me I could have it for £500 and I could send the money through Skrill (Moneybooker). I, too, noticed it. I was quick to ask someone with the knowledge if it were real, and he said it had been discussed before.Andersun wrote:Fraud back on Ebay. Number is 201070863600. Claims to be out of Clarkesville, GA. Same pictures as before.
Thanks to everyone here at TMF for watching for this kind of FRAUD!
