Victor Orthophonic VV-8-12 FOR SALE - NJ - $100

this is a project machine that could be parted out and sold (the ortho horn alone) for twice or more than what I'm asking for it, which is $100, simply to get it out of the house.

a victor victrola orthophonic machine, VV-8-12... I have no photos and would rather not take the time to do so if you're not truly serious about buying.

best way to describe it would be, imagine a complete machine in excellent condition... but subtract the tonearm and reproducer. the rest is there. the cabinet itself is solid and complete with all doors (but missing the knobs)... however it was refinished at some point some time ago, so the cabinet is lighter in color than that typically darker shade... there is also some general wear around the edges and some loss to the feet and decorative trim...

still, the horn is there and intact, the grill is perfect with original grill cloth intact, the four-spring motor is running, turntable and all other hardware (except for needlecup) is there.

this could be restored easily enough, not to factory finish and perfection, but into a decent looking and playing (and exceptionally sounding) phonograph... but basically a playing machine, unless of course you took some time and really got into it, in which case you probably could bring this thing back with a bit of effort.

I'd just rather not take the time to bust it up and part it out, and I hate doing such things to these machines any way. so $100 takes it. I think that's fair, and in all honesty, it's less than I paid for it (I know people claim that all the time, but I can show you the receipt).

the machine is located in woodbury, NJ, which is 10 minutes from center city philadelphia and within a couple hours drive of new york city, baltimore and D.C. email me if interested. if I don't hear anything, this will have to end up on ebay in one form or another either this weekend or next.
