What is Your Name?

Post by JerryVan »

Not sure what "proper" forum etiquette dictates, but when someone posts a question/comment, and I think I may have an answer, I like to address the person by their name. That way it's not misconstrued by other posters as being directed to them.

Problem is, many of you like to have clever user names "CrazyVictrolaHorder", etc. That's fine, and it's kind of fun actually, but maybe you could also end your message with your name, as below;

Thanks,
Jerry

Maybe it's only me that thinks about this. If so, that's o.k., I'll get by. Just thought I would bring it up.

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Jerry,
My user name is Flashpanblue which was the name that was automatically generated on the web when I originally signed up for EBay. My real name is Pete! I will add that I have noticed that many Forum members don't even take the time to fill out their membership profiles. It's nice to look up a member and see how old they are, where they come from and what their specific interests are. I think there should even be a spot in the profile where you can say how many machines you have.
all the best!

Pete,

Hint taken! I've expanded my profile a bit.
