"Barney Google" & "Old King Tut" Diamond Disc - Craigslist

Post by fourforty »

Seattle Area Craigslist, this Edison DD, from Jones & Hare:

Seller (not me) is interested in offers or trades. This is a pretty famous novelty song from the era.

It's a great record. I have a copy. And there is somebody on eBay that from time to time sells neat T-shirts with the King Tut side label on the front.

I'd say pretty common, maybe worth around $5.00 in good condition. Good performances!

Two excellent novelty songs of the era, well performed. I'd pay $10.00 if it was as clean as it looks.

An excellent "double A-side" Jones and Hare record that sold very well and is pretty common. Should be no reason to pay for than $5-$6 for this and you are likely to find it in bulk lots.

It is common. I have three copies on disc and the cylinder versions as well. Sadly, the cylinder dubs were particularly poor transfers.

I'd love to grab a copy someday, I'll have to wait until I actually have a diamond disc machine though...

Your Barney Google cylinder might be a different 'take' than mine, which sounds pretty good - just as does this copy on yootoob: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... UI9Y4MJz8I . (This is a bit fast, as is my copy at 160rpm)

I was wondering that as well. I have two copies of it on BA and mine both sound very nice for dubbings.
