Hey then, I'll bet my Blue Amberol of Billy Murray singing it must be worth about a million!

I notice the seller claims to have previously been offered $2,500. Ignorance and/or greed knows no bounds.

Wow, lucky for him he's got that letter! Otherwise the record would only be worth $10. ;>)

Here's my guess as to what's up with this one:

Grandpa Emil has passed away, and like a lot of old people (myself included, lately) he thought he'd leave a note with things -- or at least this one thing -- that meant something to him, so that it wouldn't be thrown out unrecognized when his belongings were gone through. I doubt that anyone actually ever intended to pay him 2500 simoleons for it; maybe a drinking buddy was messin' with him years ago, or maybe Grandpa just embellished his tale a little -- who knows?

The person who's trying to sell this probably figures hey, Grandpa lived in Huntington Beach more than thirty years ago, and if it was worth that much then, it's gotta be worth double that now! Kinda cute, really. ("Tenner Solo.")

But once again -- and this is the thing that always gets me -- here's a person posting an ad on the internet. Would it be so difficult to run a simple search for information about the item on that very same internet?

Here's another gem, which could be anything, that's been running for a couple months in my neck of the woods: https://boston.craigslist.org/nos/atq/4432508883.html

And for posterity, the pics from the ad this thread is about:
