Considering one had sold recently for $176, $60 seems like a bargain. If I was close, it would have already been bought.

Ditto. A nice complete machine for $60 isn't something I run across very often. If you later change your mind, just a little cleanup will allow you to make some bucks selling it again.tomwil wrote:Considering one had sold recently for $176, $60 seems like a bargain. I am of the same opinion as Hailey and Henry. If I saw this machine at this price, I'd buy it. I'd offer less, but probably still buy it. I have read threads on these, but have never seen one in person. I find them interesting and it would not take up much room in your collection. For that price, jump on it!

$60 is not a bad price, though as others have said, keep in mind that this is the runt of the herd. These don't turn up near as often as the earlier entry-level VV-IV.

I've seen this on craigslist for awhile now and the price keeps coming down. It seems like a good price but to far for me to drive for one machine. I know someone who has bought phono stuff from them before and they claim to know nothing about the stuff. But check it over well as the machines my friend got were cobbled up.

I think I paid about $120.00 for mine, so $60.00 is a great price (IMHO).
I like mine, and it sounds quite nice. I don't use it much, as the tracking pressure seems to be pretty heavy compared to my other machines (I need to get some kind of a scale to weigh it and see what the weight of the reproducer and arm are, compared with my other machines).
I read somewhere that the case is pine, but I am very new to this hobby, so don't hold me to that.

I'm kind of surprised they had any Exhibitions left in stock by 1925, as I thought they had made the full switch in 1921 or so.
I guess it was just done for marketing/cost reasons, as why would you want to spend $35 on a VV-VI, when the 1-1 sounded just as good, for $25.
