Source for Brunswick Parisian horn...

Post by Curt A »

I am sure this has been asked before, but is anyone making replica horns for Parisians or Polly Portables? I have the instruction graphic and the horn template to make one, but wondered if there are pre-made ones? I don't have a printer large enough to print 16.5" graphics...

Curt, why not place a "wanted" ad in our Yankee trader section...??. Better yet, just make one yourself. I posted in the past the "Ultra" horn (see pic) mentioned has an option at an additional cost on the instruction disc. It is really just a very thin black paper. Not the normal thick green or beige paper material. Very easy to make. The decal would be a challenge though.

Let us know if you find a source; I've had 2 of these itsy machines sitting on the back stairs, just short of 'forever'.

I meant making one using a compass.....you know the "old school" way......   . I've made one (less than 30 minutes) just so I don't wear out the original. The decal could be printed on very thin paper and added to the black paper. As for the silver "painted" ring.....you could spray that as well. Just cover the paper with another smaller piece of paper to expose only a outer ring before you spray.
Don't you guy's remember "art" class in school...???..... . I remember my art teacher.....she was hot.... .

     . I was just thinking (that rarely happens)....you modern tech guys should be able to copy the decal I just posted and shop it onto a printer to be........printed!!!. This step is going to be the only real challenge to making one. Any craft store will have large sheets of black or green paper in stock. Heck, make a few for your friends as Xmas gifts.... .
By the way, the back side is just black. No silver.

Thanks for the ideas and graphics. You are right, the graphics/decal part is easy and using a compass would work. I am going to check with a friend who has a clock dial cutter, which might work, also.

Do you have a scanner? If so, would it be possible to place the horn flat on the glass and scan a hi-res image of the decal (at least 300 dpi)? The photo is good at a distance, but enlarging it to work on it in PhotoShop loses detail because the image is not clear enough. Thanks...

Here is the best I could do with the graphic... in case anyone needs it.
