I am looking at a Victor VI that has an all gold data plate. I have only ever seen them with the black raised areas on the plate.
Does anyone know if Victor made any of these? Was it part of a re-plating job?
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Re: ALL gold victor data plate???
It has been stripped of its gold plating and black contrast paint right down to the unfinshed brass planchette. The plate is not refinished - it is unfinished.

Yeah, both the plate and the cabinet have been refinished, and not properly. That will cost a bit to fix.

Unless the lighting is making for odd reflections, the swirls on the surface look as if someone has sanded it down.
