Folks,

Edgar Kennedy was one of the greatest of the great character actors of the golden age of Hollywood. from the silent days up until his premature death in 1948.

Regards,
John

Edgar was the perfect avatar back in December. Most of the threads put us in the "slow burn" frame of mind!

Do avatars go through administration here or is it "do-it-yerself"?

WJW,

You can set them yourself (or pick one from the gallery, which is now categorized), but I was just getting to scale your image and set it for you—max avatar size is 100 x 100.

If you (or anyone else) wants to have a name change, though; consult with one of your friendly administrators. (At the moment, you probably want me for that—John is still working on getting used to phpBB.)

I just finished looking to see whether you used the same image as an avatar elsewhere, or if you had a scaled version already.

Give me a moment and I’ll have it up for you.

I still need to look into how our [flash] tag works, but in the meantime, for anyone who hasn’t seen this...“A Pair of Tights”.

Edit: Done. If anyone would like a cutout (like what I have done for estott, Lenoirstreetguy or Zeppy), please do not hesitate to let me know.

WJW,

That has got to be one of the most perfect silent two reelers ever shot. Not one title card is needed in the entire film. When I was a kid one of the local UHF channels ran a bunch of Kennedy's and Leon Errol's short subjects, (RKO I think) I was hooked from the start. Fun little programmers full of laughs.

Regards,
John

WJW,

You’re quite welcome (and if I can set anyone else up with an avatar, please let me know). I was glad to be of service.

That was a really fun video—John deserves the credit for that one; He loves Edgar Kennedy, and pointed me towards it.

Now, that's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time.

Yeah, where is that Bengt guy, anyway? I hear that there are people missing him terribly. ;)

It’s nice to see everyone is finding us, though.

Welcome back, everyone to whom I have not managed to send a welcoming PM!
