FOR SALE: Victor Victrola VV-XII case - $350
Here for sale is a Victor victrola VV-XII case. This case has it's original date label on the bottom of the case. The case has a chipped place under the lid as can be seen in the photographs. This is a nice case and appears to have been refinished. The case has all four of the original feet. Some hardware is with the case as can be seen. Anyway, maybe someone out there needs a nice early mahogany VV-XII case. Price $350. Pick up or I can ship in the US. Thank you for looking.

Wasn't this a complete machine just the other day?

When this was a complete machine, it was reduced to $450.00. Now the empty case is sellin for $350.00. Doet that mean the parts you took off are selling for $100.00?
Or is this machine going to be parted out for maximum profit?

In this case, the machine did not sell as a complete unit and since it has some damage and is not a perfect example, no harm no foul as I see it. Now, if it were a perfect minty example, then everyone should get their daggers out and start throwing. As for parting out for maximum profit, I believe we have all seen enough of that on eBay from a few sellers that are noted for it. Just my two cents.

I'd like to think that this is primarily a forum for information and not just a for sale list that doesn't charge fees.

Re: FOR SALE: Victor Victrola VV-XII case - $350
I am just curious, if it was an issue to ship before why is the empty case easier to ship than the complete machine? Does the weight difference dramatically raise the price that much such that it becomes impossible to ship it? If it was an issue of things getting broken there are ways to package it that can prevent this, such as securing the tone-arm etc.
I know it's not a perfect example, but as a collector I am not a fan of seeing any complete machine become parts. Just my personal opinion, no disrespect is meant towards the seller.

Honestly, I would just pay to ship the cabinet, and all the hardware/motor seperately.
Whenever I buy a console, unless it has a key/lock, I take the lid off and stick it in the truck. I always remove the winding key, tonearm/reproducer, platter, and motorboard. The less things have the chance to bang around, the better.

You can still buy the whole machine, the case is here^
Here is the motor:

And here is the tone-arm and reproducer:

-It will just end up costing you $1,085.
