If you look at the bid list, there's one bidder (131 feedback) that's put large chucks of bids on each machine. Looks like a buddy is running up the price or really wants all three machines.

These bids are prime examples of why it is a stupid idea to place a proxy bid before the end of the "auction"... NEVER bid until the last 10 seconds of a listing or you are wasting your time and getting played on the bump up bids...

When I place my bid on ebay. I place the maximum that I am willing to go. If I get outbid by even a penny, so be it. Eventually the same type of item will show up again. I've gotten good things on opening bid or a low price. Sometimes the item will go for my maximum bid. I don't have the time to hover over a computer waiting for that item.

I agree. I wait until 5 or 6 seconds remaining to bid. I know the price I am willing to pay and if it goes higher, I'll wait for the next one to show up. But for the same bidder to bid on all 3 machines, that's very suspect.

Well, at 1 pm Pacific time, The Credenza is in the lead at just under $900, while the Columbia Viva Tonal is losing some steam back in the low $700s. Still, very healthy prices for both machines. Will the Credenza win in the end?

Interesting. The auctions closed at $860 for the XVI, a 1917 model; $1325 for the Columbia 800, and $1525 for the Credenza. The Columbia and the Credenza did seem to be particularly nice specimens.

I was watching this bidding auction from the very beginning, the seller is only an hour away from me and had I been able to buy any of these I wouldn't need to worry about shipping. Unfortunately (for me) his phonographs always go for very healthy prices that I can't afford, it is very frustrating!
Those phonographs are so close, yet so far.
