I think Kurt Nauck stocks the Victor Data Book. Check the "Resources" section on his site:

You can also get a copy from Amazon. The "bibles" on Victor are Look for the Dog and The Victor Data Book. Both by Robert W. Baumbach and both outstanding.

I say walnut.

Ironic thing about Look For The Dog: concerning the vv-50, Baumbach claims that the winding key was moved to the side beginning in 1925. Oops!

LFTD was written years before The Victor Data Book, which may explain some of the inconsistencies. I bought my copy of LFTD, first edition, around 1989, so it has been around for quite a while. I believe the VDB was published around 2005, but I can't remember for sure. At any rate, that span of time allows for a lot of new information to be brought to light.

The VDB is ©2003, and the latest date on my copy of LFTD is 2005.

Those are the same copies that I have. It looks like there have been multiple editions of LFTD, starting in 1981.
