We enjoy the old bikes and ride them in nice weather. We live in the Willamette Valley in Oregon and it's rather flat so riding an old heavy bike is not too difficult. I also belong to a small group that takes classic bike rides. It's fun. Jerry

No Victrola in my house, but I think I'm in right equally...

Like "Ice Box", Victrola to me can mean various things. In my case the pesky competitor "The Edison" takes center stage in the living room. I had out my holiday Recordings for it today and enjoyed a bit of Christmas Past.

Of all the machines filling my house, I've never had a classic, upright Victor Victrola. I do have Victors: 3 Orthophonics, a 'humpback' console, a VV-VI, an unmarked Victor I equivalent (from England, I assume from its "G&T" Exhibition's label), and even a 'project' Monarch Special which I'll probably never complete. But no upright Victor Victrola.

Well no new Victrolas for me. I promised my wife when we moved in just over a year ago that I would try and keep the Phonographs out of the parlor. So far she hasn't noticed the eight that I managed to sneak in!!!

Imagine Eldridge Johnson's horror, if he were to see how many little phonographs are piled atop his floor-model Victrolas ! He couldn't even stand the thought of flowers on the lids of Victrolas.
