Re: Need some opinions on which machine to sell :/
The other posts are spot on...Oak VV-IXs are pretty thin on the ground. This machine would be much easier to sell ,and harder to replace...The VV-260 wasn't a popular machine in the 20's , and I think it would be a hard sell today...you certainly won't get top dollar for it...I've got an oak VV-IX and a VV-240...I'd just about give the 240 away just to make room...the VV-IX?..not for sale!...no matter what price is offered!

If you were looking to sell these on ebay, the smaller one is easier to sell as it's portable and you can sell overseas as well. The bigger model is heavier and cumbersome. Oak tends to be more liked than Mahogany.
Personally, I would sell the one that doesn't play quite as well or which one I don't like as much. It makes the choice less painful.
Good luck!

You always remember fondly your first machine. Many years ago a marriage break up caused me to sell my first machine , an oak Columbia table top , and I still regret doing it...If you're living in Flat Rock Mich then we're not far apart since I live in Canada about 25 miles from Detroit..My point is that if you sell your VV-260 and in time your money worries disappear , you can replace it with my VV-240 for a token amount.. I believe that we should help the youth in this hobby...Steve

Good luck again...Do what you've got to do now...when you get back I'll see to it that you've got a machine or two to get restarted in the hobby...The "Mitchel" is yours if you want it...It needs a lot of work , and only a Detroiter will give a damn about it...Last I heard the old Mitchel factory was still standing...
