I would keep the one you like more. It's always difficult to speculate about future values, but historically console models are not as desireable by collectors. On the other hand, a IX is also quite a common machine, so no huge values there either.

Just by looking at your pictures I like the IX better, just because it is quarter sawn oak. But that is just my preference.

Good luck

I agree with Andres.
I like the oak machine better, but that is my subjective opinion.
I don't think there's a great difference in value between the two machines.
Good luck,
Gene

I would keep the IX and sell the 260 - BUT consoles like that just sit on the market with no takers. The IX is an attractive oak table model and would sell much better.

Although the console model will be a a hard sell, you will be able to replace it very cheaply. I have never been able to sell one of those. Tall ones and table models sell, but I think those low ones just don't appeal to people like the other styles.

Also - the VV IX is a common machine in mahogany, but far less common in oak. You'd have some trouble replacing it.

As a matter of personal preference, I would sell the VV-260 because I don't like consoles, especially humpbacks. The VV-IX is a nice, full featured machine in a small package and is an unusual find in oak.

I agree with the earlier opinions. I would keep the IX, from a collector's point of view. As a matter of fact most anyone would keep the IX as evidenced by the replies.

I am sure this has occurred to you, but if you need a higher price, and a quicker sale, the IX is the one to sell, though. It will sell much quicker for a decent value. The humpback will most likely take much longer to sell, only to sell for the same or less money. I do not own a IX, but have been looking for a good deal on one. I have had the chance to buy several humpbacks and never pulled the trigger.

My 2 cents.

Matt
